Skin Resurfacing

Dermabrasion is a procedure, which mechanically removes layers of skin by sanding the surface. There are two forms of dermabrasion. There is microdermabrasion, which is very superficial in depth of treatment and requires no recovery. The effects of a single treatment are subtle, but over time and with a series of treatments, a noticeable change in skin texture may be seen. The more aggressive form of dermabrasion uses a rotating wheel, which removes the skin layer by layer. This method is commonly used for treatment of acne scarring and deep wrinkles around the mouth and for blending of scars. There is an initial recovery period of 7 to 10 days. At this point, makeup can be worn; however, there will be varying degrees of redness of the skin which can take 6 months or longer to resolve. For correction of acne scarring, repeated treatments may be required for optimum results.*

CO2 Fractional Laser

The CO2 Fractional Laser is an aesthetic laser treatment that lifts away years from your face. It can help reverse the early signs of aging. It provides noticeable results, often in as little as a single treatment. You should see dramatic improvement in the tone and texture of your skin. CO2 Fractional Laser can help to clear sun-damaged skin, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, shrink the appearance of pores, fill in acne scars, and blend uneven pigmentation. The use of plasma energy in Portrait skin regeneration alters structures below the surface of the skin, creating unique conditions for continuing regeneration and improvements in wrinkles, tone, texture, and discoloration. Downtime is minimal, and clinical studies show that the improvements you see during your treatment will become even more noticeable over time.*

Erbium Fractional Laser

Erbium Fractional laser technology allows the laser spot to be divided into multiple small laser beams. The laser energy is thus introduced into the skin in multiple tiny spots. Once the energy enters the skin it spreads to gently heat the tissue to cause contraction and to stimulate collagen production. The result is tightening of the skin with limited surface damage. There is a brief 2 to 3 days recovery associated with this treatment. It is effective for treating fine lines, brown spots, sun damage, and acne scars.*
